Adding Your Own Metadata

Episodic allows you to easily add any sort of metadata to your content like custom categories, important dates or times and even values populated from any third-party data system. With this capability, you can create structure around your content in a way that lets you tie together whatever you create inside of Episodic back to the content on your own web site or application.

To make this even easier, Episodic has built a simple way for editors to search for metadata values from third party systems such as product SKU databases or article IDs from your content management system. These capabilities ensure that every piece of information stored by Episodic can quickly be associated with the work you do in any other system.

Searching by Metadata

Episodic indexes every piece of metadata you enter, and uses these values to help you search for and find your content. In this way, you can search for content not only by its title and description, but also based on values you’ve entered such as SKUs, product categories, director names, genre type, and even a date range.

Managing Metadata Values

Episodes can have any sort of custom metadata values. This metadata is instantly searchable through the Episodic interface and available via our API.

Keeping Your Data in Sync

If you’re already managing all of your metadata and video assets in your own backend system, Episodic can synchronize this information and make it available through our platform interface. Do a one time synch or even keep both systems in synch so that any change in Episodic is reflected within your backend system and vice versa.
